The Administrative Department of Rabkin Dermatopathology Laboratory, P.C. is committed to serving Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania with the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail for our referring physicians, their staff, and patients. Our Billing Specialist Team is available to assist with any insurance or billing questions from referring physicians and patients in the region.
Rabkin Dermatopathology Laboratory charges are strictly for analyzing and reviewing your specimen and are completely independent of any physician’s office or hospital visit. We will submit charges for your lab services to both your primary and secondary insurance companies using the billing information you provided to your physician’s office. Patients may be responsible for deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance charges related to our lab services, which are separate from any physician office visit charges.
We meticulously review all patient claims and follow up with insurers regarding any misprocessed or denied claims due to errors by the patient’s managed care provider. Payments can be made by check, money order, credit card, or conveniently through our website at www.rabkindermpath.com.

Cherie Johnson
Senior Billing Specialist
After receiving an Associates Degree in Business Science, Cherie joined Rabkin Dermatopathology Laboratory in 1992, making her one of Rabkin Dermatopathology’s first employees. Cherie has become an invaluable cornerstone of our Billing Department. As the most experienced member of the Billing Department, Cherie has attained a level of knowledge that allows her to be a patient advocate in following up with insurance companies on misprocessed claims and filing appeals on the patient’s behalf. She also applies her attention to detail to reviewing patient statements, insurance claims, patient collection accounts, as well as staying attuned to insurance changes and updates and relaying that information to her co-workers.
Dorothy Croker
Billing Specialist
Dorothy joined the staff of Rabkin Laboratory in 2008 as a Medical Secretary, and her detail oriented skills and work ethic have contributed to her becoming an ideal fit to our billing department. Dorothy has attained a vast level of billing knowledge that she applies to her daily billing tasks of claim filing, checking patient eligibility, reviewing patient statements, among a variety of other billing responsibilities.
